Folk Herbalism is a daily process of remembering, a sacred agreement to be in right relationship to each other, and an act of trust in the dream of the universe.
Blessed Be.
De Danaan is in honor of my guides, Danu and Ceranos. Danu is a Celtic earth goddess, and Ceranos is an Indo European earth god. They reconnect me to the severed knowledge traditions of my ancestors: witch, midwife, herbalist. Danu appears to me as a Barred Owl, and Ceranos as a White-Tailed Buck, and both inspired the logo of De Danaan. I am honored and humbled to be a human steward of our shared forest home on Orcas Island. This island is occupied Lummi/Coast Salish land; as a descendant of colonizers, I reject the continued exclusion and oppression of the original people here.
Previously as a doula and placenta encapsulator, and currently as your folk herbalist, I am called to center around women/femme identities with devotion - including our Earth Mother.
With Love and Gratitude, Lily Ostle
All De Danaan goods are made with ethically sourced plants, organic when applicable and wild harvested when sustainable. Being in right relationship to all of creation starts with the details.

Resources
My suppliers
All herbs that I am not able to harvest on Orcas Island come from Mountain Rose Herbs. I trust their dedication to ethical and sustainable herbalism, and I appreciate that they are also located in the Pacific Northwest. All Essential Oils come from Snow Lotus Aromatherapy.
My teacher
I am honored to have trained for two years with Lauren Morgan in the Folk Herbalism tradition, before we both left Seattle to return to the forest. I am grateful to continue to grow my ability to tend our dreams and be in relationship to spirit with her.
